Located in the heart of historic Newport on the harbor, our spa sits alongside the Newport Marriott on Long Wharf and Studio Fit, our health club, is located inside the hotel. The Spa provides ultimate relaxation and was voted "Best Spa in Rhode Island since 2009″ by Rhode Island Monthly. We have eight private treatment rooms, two treatment suites for guests to enjoy with a loved one, a full salon and relaxation lounge. Guests of the spa can enjoy complimentary access to the state-of-the-art health club that includes a sauna and indoor pool.

As a courtesy to other guests and to our therapists, we strictly adhere to The Spa cancellation policy. If you must reschedule or cancel your appointment, please notify us 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged 100% of the scheduled service. Cancellation of packages requires 24-hour advance notice. Cancellation of wedding parties or groups of five or more requires 30-day advance notice.
Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to change before my service?
Most body treatments are enjoyed without clothing; however, please wear whatever is comfortable for you.  During all treatments, the body is fully draped except for the area being worked on.  Guests are given the option to change into a robe and slippers or undress in the treatment room.  All services are built with extra time for the guest to not feel rushed an to ensure they receive the full time.  Shower facilities are available for all guests, please inform our spa concierge as shower and locker space is limited.  Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your service times to allow appointments to run on time.  Arriving late may cut into appointment times resulting in shorter service as to not interfere with the next guest.  The full price would still be applied.

What If I Have Special Health Considerations?

Please notify our Concierge when booking your treatment of any medical issues such as high blood pressure, allergies, any physical ailments or disabilities, or if you are pregnant. If you have any concerns, please let us know.

What If I Am Pregnant?
While there are a few services that should be avoided during pregnancy, there are many beneficial treatments that can be enjoyed. Please notify our Concierge if you are pregnant when you make your appointment so that they can offer guidance.
Should I Bring My Valuables?
For the safety of your valuables, we suggest that you leave them at home or in the safe provided in your guest room. We do not assume any liability for valuables.

What If I Am Running Late For My Appointment?
Arriving late will simply limit the time for your treatment, thus lessening its effectiveness and your pleasure. Your treatment will end on time so that the next guest will not be delayed. The full value of your treatment will be applied.
What Are The Age Requirements For Treatments?
Due to company policy, guests under the age of 18 can only receive hair and nail services. Guests 18 and older can enjoy our full menu of services.
What About Gratuities?
For your convenience, a 20% service charge will be added to each Spa service received. Additional gratuities are at your discretion.
Are Day Passes Available?
Day passes are available to guests receiving spa services. Day passes are good for use of the hotel's pool, sauna and fitness center. Guests must be at least 16 years of age.
Are Gift Certificates Available From The Spa?
Absolutely. You may purchase Spa Gift Certificates for a specific dollar amount or for particular services."

The Spa At Newport Marriott Staff
Guests are in good hands at The Spa At Newport Marriott. The experienced team at The Spa provides a wide range of services, many of which incorporate Marine and Aromatherapy Themes, in harmony with our seaside location.

Courtney has been the Spa Manager for The Spa at Newport Marriott since the spa opened in May 2009. She has been a licensed massage therapist since 2005 and brings a world of international expertise to The Spa at Newport Marriott. She has worked around the world performing massage treatments and upon returning to her native Rhode Island she concentrated her practice in medical spas. Courtney has brought a long, varied repertoire of relaxing, healthy body treatments to her managerial position at The Spa at Newport Marriott. Courtney also oversees Studio Fit at the Newport Marriott. The health club has over 400 members and offers many options for hotel guests and members with the two-story facility located in the Marriott hotel.

Rachel began working at The Spa at Newport Marriott in 2016. After working as our Spa Concierge she worked her way up to Spa Supervisor and then Spa Assistant Manager. Rachel was born and raised here on Aquidneck Island and loves to recommend her favorite activities and restaurants to guests looking to get the full Newport experience.  Rachel strives to make sure guests have a relaxing and calming experience beyond their time inside the spa.  Rachel also assists Courtney in managing The Studio Fit at the Newport Marriott Hotel & Spa.

Taylor brings over a decade of experience in guest services managing some of the most prestigious resorts in Newport, RI and Honolulu, HI.  Taylor's background in esthetics began in Honolulu, HI in 2016.  Upon graduating from esthetics school, she began her esthetics career at a premier luxury spa in Waikiki, The Moana Surfrider Resort and Spa, focusing on providing attentive care and exceptional personalized service to clientele from all over the world.  Wellness and skin care is a huge part of her life and she strives to enhance the health and beauty that is within each of her clients.  Taylor's passion for skin care keeps her continually advancing her education with the latest innovations and treatments in the field.

Alaina has been a stylist for over 15 years. She chose the hair industry because she likes to make people look and feel good. Her primary goal is to continue her education with the latest trends in the beauty industry. When she is not helping others, Alaina enjoys photography. Alaina specializes in beautiful formal hair and bridal styles.
David has been a massage therapist since 2005. He holds a black belt in Shaolin Kempo Karate and has been a heavy metal drummer for the past 30 years. He also enjoys cooking and Sci-fi movies. David has helped to create many of the body treatments here at The Spa and specializes in our Cliff Walk Foot Ritual and Therapeutic Cascading massage. He understands the importance for a person to be relaxed and able to move freely with less pain and discomfort.
Candace has been a massage therapist for 21 years. She got started in massage business because she was always interested in muscle movement. Candace is very active and in her spare time she enjoys hiking and Tai Chi. She strives to continue to help others improve their overall health and well-being through massage therapy. Candace specializes in our Warm River Stone massage for deep relaxation.
Carol has been a massage therapist for 17 years. Carol had her own practice for 12 years and has since come to The Spa. She decided to get into massage and body work because she benefited so much from it herself, that she felt the need to pass on the same feeling to others. When she is not busy healing guests, she loves to read, sew, and entertain at her home. Carol works hard at her craft and continued her education to include Reiki and energy work, Thai Table and Lomi Lomi. She specializes in our Heaven to Earth treatment, and our Deep Muscle Massage.
Barbara has been practicing massage therapy for 14 years. Her curriculum also includes the benefits of hydrotherapy. She believes it is essential for all beings to receive the many nurturing qualities that therapeutic massage has to offer. In her free time she enjoys the company of her loved ones as well as being outdoors, gardening and cooking. She also has a great love for animals.

Catherine has been in the spa industry since 2006. She started in this industry in esthetics and decided to go back and get her massage therapy license as well because she knows how important it is to feel good from the inside out. With massage and skin care you can achieve both. On her days off Catherine enjoys spending quality time with her family. Her mission is to leave her guests feeling rejuvenated allowing their inner glow to shine through. She specializes in our Illiumlayer Facial and our Therapeutic Cascading Massage.


Sherri's love for makeup and skin began when she received her first mini facial at age 10. Learning the ways to keep skin healthy and glowing led her to pursue an education in beauty. Since becoming a licensed esthetician in 2004, she has traveled up and down the east coast working at fashion shows, photo shoots and other special events. She settled for a time in south Florida working at a number of beautiful resorts before returning to New England. Sherri's passion is to make people look and feel their best.


Darby began her career in wellness in 2018 as a licensed Esthetician. Darby first came to The Spa at Newport Marriott in 2019 where she then decided to go back to school to became a licensed Massage Therapist. She enjoys bringing clients a well-rounded wellness experience. As a mom of two she understands the importance of prioritizing self-care and restoration when you can. In her spare time Darby enjoys reading and spending time with family.


Abbi has been in the beauty industry for over 15 years as a makeup artist. In 2020 she decided to expand her skin care knowledge and attended the Elizabeth Grady school, where she honed her skills and graduated at the top of her class in esthetics. With a holistic approach to skincare, Abbi is dedicated to providing personalized skincare solutions that enhance natural beauty and promote overall well-being. Beyond the physical benefits, Abbi believes in the transformative power of self-care and strives to create a relaxing and rejuvenating experience for each client. Thanks to her wealth of knowledge Abbi helped create our Eminence Organic and Eminence Collagen Lift facials.


Mary has been in the hospitality industry for over 15 years, beginning her journey as a nail technician in 2017. She moved from Oregon to Massachusetts in 2020 to put down roots for herself and her growing family. Specializing in custom nail art, Mary has a wide range of skills from crisp line work, to hand painting portraits or other artwork on nails. When she isn't working, she enjoys going on adventures with her son, tending to her plants, or finding new recipes to make at home. Mary is passionate about nail health and education on how to maintain it.
